The second step in our formation is reading biographies on St. Francis. Fray Jose (our Spiritual Father) recommends we read "The Life of St. Francis" by St. Bonaventure and Thomas de Celano. Both books are available at Amazon.
Another step in our formation is having a "spiritual director". Each one of us should have a qualified person in our life that can help us with spiritual discernment and direction. If you desire a spiritual director and can not find one, please contact Bishop Delgado (our Spiritual Father) or Br. John-David.
Supposedly, St. Francis once told his fellow brothers - "Preach the Gospel and if necessary use words." This is living the Gospel.

Formation is an ongoing process for every Christian. As members of the Secular Order of St. Francis, we have a particular direction to travel in that formation process.
The first step in our formation is the reading, learning and application of our Rule. Our Rule is found in The Little Book of the Rule. This book contains not only our Rule; but, also our constitution and ceremonies. The Rule should be studied on a regular basis as the information will lead us to implement the teachings of the Rule into our daily life. Remember, the simple Rule of a Franciscan is to live the Gospel.
